When Tanushree runs across the school yard, hair flying, laughter echoing, no one would guess the battles she carries in her young heart. She is only in class five, yet her world has been shaped by hardship.

Her father, a daily laborer, struggles with drinking. Her mother, once selected for the police force, had to give up the uniform because of family struggles. That dream could have died there—but it didn’t. Tanushree has picked it up.

"One day, I will wear the police uniform for my mother," she says with a fire in her eyes. She wants to stand for justice, protect her community, and give her family a life of dignity.

She loves hide-and-seek, rice with roti and ladies’ fingers, and treasures John 3:16 in her heart. Though studies are not always easy, at the Naba Asha she is learning, growing, and daring to believe her future can be brighter.

Tanushree is not just dreaming of becoming a police officer—she is determined to rewrite her family’s story. And with every step, she is moving closer to that day.
