In the vibrant town of Bargargh lives Upasana Jal, a lively seventh-grader with dreams as high as the skies. The youngest of three sisters and one brother, she watches her father toil as a daily laborer and her mother nurture their home, and she dreams of giving back to her family and community in meaningful ways.
Upasana is full of energy and curiosity. Whether she’s racing across the playground in a long jump or reaching for the skies in a high jump, she approaches life with the same determination she brings to her studies—especially her favorite subject, Odia. But her heart is not just in schoolwork; she dreams of becoming a nurse, serving people, and supporting her family financially.
Beyond books and sports, Upasana finds joy in quiet, nurturing moments: planting saplings, watering the garden, and watching them grow strong—much like her own spirit. Guided by her love for Jesus and the wisdom she gains from her Bible, Upasana is on a journey to grow, serve, and shine as a hope for everyone around her.
