Shalom Naik, born on 7 October 2014, is a Class 5 student from Kesinga in Kalahandi, Odisha. He comes from a hardworking family. His father works as a security guard, while his mother works as a labourer in Tamil Nadu. Shalom has two brothers. Before coming to Naba Asha, Shalom attended a private school in his area. However, the high school fees made it difficult for him to continue his education. When Shalom first arrived at Naba Asha, he was happy to begin a new chapter. Since then, he has learned to become more independent and responsible. He has learned how to manage his time, take care of things on his own, and show respect to elders. Shalom particularly enjoys devotion time at Naba Asha, and his favourite subject is Maths. Although he has not yet decided what he wants to become when he grows up, he already knows one thing about the future he wants: he wants to help others. One of Shalom’s happiest memories at Naba Asha is celebrating his birthday with his friends and the Naba Asha family. Today, Shalom is continuing to discover his interests and dreams while growing in confidence, independence, and responsibility. With the support of his education and the people around him, he has the opportunity to explore his future and find his own path toward helping others. |
